Comparison between calculated optical basicity, Lambda(th), and experimental basicity signalled by Pb(2+) ions, Lambda(pb), showed pronounced deviations at intermediate Sr(PO(3))(2) contents. It was suggested that this effect indicates the selectivity of Pb(2+) ions for local anionic sites having higher than the average glass basicity, Lambda(Uv) in agreement with structural evidence obtained from the corresponding Raman spectra. Refractivity data were employed to calculate the average electronic polarisability due to oxide(-II) and fluoride(-I) species, alpha(OlF), and the correlation between alpha(OlF) and Lambda(th) for FP glasses was found to depart from those established previously for silicate and phosphate glasses.}, number={4}, journal={Physics and Chemistry of Glasses-european Journal of Glass Science and Technology Part B}, publisher={Society Glass Technology}, author={Velli, L.
