The concept of “Trusted Smart Statistics” is introduced and explained. The requirements, design principles and preliminary ideas for a general reference architecture enabling cross-domain processing of data sources from multiple data holders. In this context, an important role is played by enabling technologies like Secure Multiparty Computation and Trusted Hardware.
