Their structure, optical and vibronic properties were studied. The benzylamine antimonium iodide (C6H5CH2NH3)3Sb2I9 has a 0 dimensional structure consisting of two face sharing octahedrals surrounded by the organic cations. The benzylamine antimonium bromide (C6H5CH2NH3)2SbBr5 consisting of SbBr5 −2 anions forming columns of corner sharing octahedrals and the benzylammonium cations were located in the free cavities between the one-dimensional zigzag chains. Both of them show strong absorption at the UV region and furthermore that with I absorbs also at a significant part of the Visible spectra.
